"Dark Horse" Fences and Starting Gates

These fence sections and starting gates were made for the South Laurel Marching band for their 2021 production "Dark Horse". The Band Finished the season in 3rd place in the Kentycky AAAA state contest.

Each gate was built and moved independently in the show with one side of each having a blue vinyl print, and another having an orange vinyl. The back side had gates that were hinged to open for the final set of the show to let the color guard out for the race. Dimensions for the props were 7.5' wide, 6' deep, and 10' tall. Each fence section was constructed of vinyl fencing and a wooden base at each post. Fences measured 8' wide by 4' tall. Each fence had 48' of 5050 RGB wifi controlled LED tape, a controller and a battery (housed in the posts) making is so that each fence section could be independently turned on and off and color controlled for each set desired. (the color and brightness differences pictured above were due to differing charge levels on the batteries after a two hour practice) Each fence also has 5 metal hooks on the back sides for the staging of silks and rifles.
